Covid Day 82

Can’t believe I missed blogging for almost two weeks!!! My excuse - work of course!!!
Went back to work 3 days last week. Have yo go for 4 days next week. Dress rehearsal 6 in progress - leading it so gotta be there! I’ve been drowning with work so doing whatever I can to survive and stay afloat!! Part of that is to just rest whenever I can - hence no blogging. 
Btw - thinking about covid - are things slowly getting back to normal? Hmmmm maybe?! For us...yeah! Met friends, S’s 40th bday, GNO....whew! Fingers crossed!

The real reason why I blogged today is to avoid "Dwitiya Vighnam"...I dont even wanna try translating this into english but I'll definitely try to explain what it means. "Dwitiya Vighnam" is a popular Hindu belief....if you 'start' doing something one day then you continue to do the same thing the next day. Say for e.g. I started blogging yesterday, so if I don't blog today then it's not considered a good start. Dwitiya  => second Vighnam => obstacle I believe the real reason behind this belief is to encourage continuity. But I'm the kinda person who does something for 2 days to avoid Dwitiya Vighnam and then stops doing it the third day ;)

Half Saree (Langa voni)

Half saree, aka Langa Voni (in Telugu), is a traditional south Indian outfit typically worn by teenage girls. It's called a 'half' saree cuz it's, well, just half a saree :) It's synonymous with a Lehenga Choli or Chaniya Choli from north India. Young girls would wear half-sarees and gradually as they grow, transition to wearing sarees. I remember wearing my first half-saree when I was 12 years old. It was such a big deal for me, getting a 'semi-grown-up' feeling for the first time. The trend sorta faded away, taken over by really grand n expensive salwars, but they are back with a bang! They're not just for young girls anymore. This fashion trend has boomed so overwhelmingly that they're almost as popular as sarees. And it's not just exclusive to south India anymore, girls n women all over the country are wearing them. And wearing them with style! Gotta chiiilllaaaxxxxxx!!

Had a loooooong day at work...back home blogging. Feels like those good old days when I was lil....would come back home from school and write in my dairy....it was best friend then...knew all my secrets! Well, don't get your hopes up....not gonna spill out my secrets here :) Chillaaaaxxxxing doesn't come naturally to me.....no matter how hard I try. I'm sooo used to complaining and whining all day that I forget to stop and enjoy all the lil things that bring great joy in life. I'm starting to learn some lessons watching my husband.....managing work, school, me, NFL...he's such a saint! He once told me...don't fret over lil things.....all the lil things u fret over will bundle up & u'll end up worrying about things that don't matter.....and in turn bother me :) That is sooo true!! Learning to chill & relax!
